Ray Charles è lalbum di debutto del pianista, cantante e band leader omonimo. Pubblicato in origine nel giugno 1957 su etichetta Altantic Records, verrà ristampato su vinile trasparente per festeggiare i 75 anni delletichetta. Sebbene identificato come album, Ray Charles potrebbe essere più precisamente definito una raccolta di hit, essendo tutti i brani stati pubblicati in precedenza e non meno di 11 sulle 14 tracce sono entrate nella top 10 della classifica R&B tra il 1953 e il 1957. In ordine: "Mess Around" (#3, 1953), "Don't You Know" (#10, 1954), "I Got a Woman" (#1, 1955), "Come Back" (#4, 1955), "This Little Girl of Mine" (#9, 1955), "A Fool for You" (#1, 1955), "Greenbacks" (#5, 1955), "Drown in My Own Tears" (#1, 1956), "Mary Ann" (#1, 1956), "Hallelujah I Love Her So" (#5, 1956) e "Ain't That Love" (#9, early 1957). Le tre tracce rimanenti ("Funny (But I Still Love You)", "Sinner's Prayer" e "Losing Hand") sono B-side pubblicati tra il 1953 e 1954.
